Does your screen time leave you feeling both inspired and overwhelmed? Connected and burnt out? Motivated and drained? You don't have to hold these contradictions in isolation. We're all figuring out how to integrate these tools and process the costs and benefits of living in the Age of Information.

Let's learn together.

a contemplative digital space

Facilitated by the tech-educator dynamic duo, io & G, The Cyborg Support Club is an emergent community dedicated to investigating our relationship to digital technology using accountability and compassion.

Join us for reflection, discussion, and practice. The hope is that we will understand our multiple roles, identities, goals, and intentions for our digital technology use, to emerge as more empowered agents.

G has been an iPhone user since 2007, has a Bachelor of arts degree in Rhetoric & Media Studies, and is certified as a Digital Wellness Educator through the DWI Institute in 2021. She coaches individuals towards more mindful internet use and created the Cyborg Support space for group work in 2021. She spends much of her free time reading and making art about living in the Information Age.

io, a hacker and tech angel, started building computers from spare parts as a child. They have hosted many security workshops geared toward sex workers. They facilitated the security portion of the first round of Cyborg Support in 2021, and attended Deep May in 2019 learning Web Development and again in 2022 studying Hardware & Micro-controllers where they co-built a robot puppy.

We work in affiliation with Blacklidge Community Collective
& have certification via the Digital Wellness Institute

The Cyborg Support Club spans many geographic locations. We acknowledge that when we meet online that is facilitated by physical infrastructures of the web; like fiber optics through soil, air, and water, precious mineral mines, and server farms.

As we dream new paradigms within imperialist systems, we acknowledge our existence within webs of ancestral trauma and systemic oppression and commit to an intersectional approach of considering the ways in which marginalized communities and ecosystems are most impacted, as well as the ways that privilege and power sustain these dynamics.

Our workshops are specifically designed to serve those who are most impacted by surveillance culture. We welcome youth, the elderly, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, sex workers, activists, and those with other criminalized and targeted identities.

may our screen time help us feel the ways we want to feel

may our screen time open us to new ways of seeing & being

may our screen time teach us about the world and about ourselves

may our screen time inspire us to create
